Well, they contain high quality amino acids, which are the building blocks for firm skin. These foods contain anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich ingredients that promote optimal skin metabolism and defence against environmental stressors.

Here’s the grocery list of Skin Superfoods you should have in your kitchen.

1. Ginger

With around forty antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that are found at the root of the spice, ginger can have a soothing effect on the skin. These properties also prevent free radical damage and protect against ageing. It can also even skin tone and improve elasticity. Ginger can also reduce the appearance of hypopigmented scars.

2. Kale

Leafy greens like kale, spinach, broccoli and Brussels sprouts are rich in vitamin K, which is a nutrient that is extremely beneficial in improving blood circulation. It also helps to diminish dark circles and tighten skin reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Kale also contains Vitamin A, C, lutein, iron and antioxidants. Lutein promotes collagen production that is essential for your skin’s strength and overall appearance.

3. Chia Seed

These fatty acids enable healthy skin cell function and new collagen production to keep the skin foundation strong and wrinkle free. 4. Avocado

Selenium helps the body produce an antioxidant called glutathione, which helps the skin’s barrier function. Among these, sardines are also packed with phosphorus, protein, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids all of which play important roles in keeping your skin glowing and hydrated.

6. Acai
